Senior Software Developer (Go & Python) (f/m/d)

As a Senior Software Developer (f/m/d), you work where our Go platform meets our Python world of forecasting and optimisation. You build and run the services that collect measurements from industrial equipment, feed them to our models and bring optimised schedules back to the machine. You don't need to be a data scientist or an optimisation expert. What counts: strong engineering, a drive to get things done and no fear of getting your hands dirty.

• You evolve our Go platform: API gateway, Data API and the services for data storage, equipment control, scheduling and reporting (REST, RabbitMQ with Protobuf, PostgreSQL, Redis)
• You get Python services and pipelines running reliably in production: forecasting and optimisation workflows, as well as gRPC services
• You build the interfaces between platform, data science and optimisation: clear APIs and libraries, so the teams can focus on models and algorithms
• You connect industrial equipment and external data sources to our platform, from OPC UA and Modbus connectors to market and weather data
• You keep production stable and fast: you track down errors through logs and metrics (Grafana, Loki, Prometheus), fix the root cause and make sure it does not come back
• You clean up: replace legacy paths, increase test coverage, make builds and CI faster and more reliable
• You work closely with data science, optimisation and our backend team

• You have at least 6 years of experience as a software engineer and have built backend systems that run in production and that customers depend on
• You have used Go and Python both in production. You go deep in one of them and work confidently and independently in the other
• You know the fundamentals of distributed systems: APIs (REST, gRPC), messaging (e.g. RabbitMQ), PostgreSQL and SQL, interfaces (e.g. Protobuf, Pydantic)
• Your work is clean and visible: integration tests against real dependencies (e.g. Testcontainers), small PRs that are easy to review, short updates and early warnings about risks
• You get stuck in and get things done: you get up to speed in unfamiliar code quickly, follow problems to the root cause and decide pragmatically. You don't need ML or optimisation expertise, but you are curious enough to understand the basics
• You use agentic coding (e.g. Claude Code, Codex or Cursor) productively, give the agent context and clear tasks, and can still explain every line you submit

Nice-to-haves

• Workflow and data stack: Argo Workflows, Metaflow or Airflow, plus pandas, PyArrow and uv
• Industry and energy: OPC UA, Modbus, IoT gateways, time series data or energy markets
• Infrastructure as code and GitOps: Terraform, Helm, Argo CD
• ML or optimisation in production: you have run models or solvers (e.g. Pyomo, HiGHS) in production, even if others built them
